Still on the Road

Well after 2 weeks on the road, Im still alive and kicking after 5000 miles a car wreck and lots of fast food.  Got some great photos and plan to get a few more over the next few days.  We left DC this morning and are currently just outside of Smokey Mt. National Park. We also stopped at two photo galleries to check out some pretty cool train photos in Roanoke VA. Tomorrow up early for a sunrise shoot.  Check out these cool photos of this cool 50's  Chevy Impala.

Acadia National Park

So after leaving our workshop early, the boss decided to head to Maine.  So we  have spent an entire 24 hours in Maine and we are now leaving one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.  Oh well thats my job and I totally plan on coming back to Acadia National Park with my beautiful wife for an anniversary or a sexy vacation. Another interesting note it was in the 80's today in Maine.  Can you believe it, October 9th and its 80 degrees should have been in the 40-50's  oh well.  Tomorrow we are rising early to shoot the sunrise and then headed south to who knows where.  Here is to hoping we have some good weather tomorrow as well as see some cool stuff on the way down south.

All the photos aren't done yet sorry about the dust!

Lessons in Learning ~ Fall Color

Morning Frost on Cat Tails 6AM 26 degrees
Ok so day 1.5 at the workshop.  Lets just say its a lot like herding cats.  You need to allow 2 times the time to do anything with 40 people.  We left paradise yesterday at the golden hour of sunset to travel to a small town 30 miles away to photograph buildings and structures.  Lets just say that this decision was met with extreme distaste as all the attendee's saw numerous sights along the way that would  have sufficed and kept all busy for an hour or two, along our trip to Jackson NH.

Fall Color
I feel a little out of place as the youngest attendee and especially since I personally know that in this room there are doctors, lawyers and big time businessmen.  I just might be the poorest one in the room and for sure the only one in the room who does not own a seriously high priced digital back.  No big deal though because photography is all about how you see and not about the balance in ones bank account.

Cool Leaves liked the color and form of these guys

Anywho, I have been very limited in what I have shot due to the format of this workshop and the group element ( Its very similar to the Yellowstone Effect ~ Clusterfuck).  We shoot in groups sometimes big but most of the time in small groups.  I am trying to get different shots than the rest of the group trying to see things differently focus on the macro shots instead of the grandiose landscape.  Here is to hoping that this evenings photo-shoot lends itself to some great PHOTOGRAPHS or to a lesson in patience and creative photographing.

Road King

So Its been two days and we have covered over 1700 miles on our roadtrip.  We made some great time on the first day from Cody wyoming to Sioux Falls South Dakota.  Erin and I have been knocking out some serious miles and just having fun listening to sports radio and random hits from the 70's-80's-90's as well as a lot of country music.  On day two we slept in a little bit meaning we left at 830 and not 530am like the previous morning.  We found a chick fila in Iowa which was in a mall, as most of them are when located outside of the bible belt.  We saw some great sunsets  over the last two days and a lot of corn ( about 700 miles full of corn).  You ask why would someone drive that much in such a short time well we were booking it to make it to Michigan on Saturday to go to the Michigan vs Minnesota game.  It was great to see Erin's Alma Matter and I enjoyed the town of Ann Arbor.  We cheered and sang Hail to the Victors a lot today as it was a complete blow out 58-0.  Tomorrow is our 1 year anniversary it has gone by so fast and im looking forward to this next year of marriage and all the exciting things that are to come.  Tomorrow we are going to Niagara Falls as a celebration for not killing each other in the first year of our marriage.
